Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Forensic Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will investigate structural failures, conduct site inspections, and collaborate with forensic experts to determine failure causes and recommend preventive measures. Your work will contribute to safer building practices and the integrity of structures across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed forensic investigations and structural failure analyses.
- Perform on-site inspections of distressed buildings across various sectors.
- Prepare comprehensive forensic engineering reports and building defect assessments for body corporates and owner corporations.
- Provide practical and economical solutions to technical problems encountered.
- Develop detailed scopes of work for repairs, facilitating accurate cost estimations by builders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to deliver technical insights and project updates.
- Contribute to the innovation and technical improvement of projects and designs.
- Achieve KPIs and maintain required turnaround times.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in forensic structural engineering, including site inspections, report writing, and technical analysis.
- Familiarity with building defects, deterioration mechanisms, and repair techniques.
- Ability to effectively communicate findings in written reports and verbal presentations.
- Experience with legal proceedings and providing expert witness testimony is a plus.
